Holston Conference Vision Statement

God envisions
bold, passionate, and joyful communities of faith
where the spiritual hunger to worship God and to serve Christ
sets disciples on fire
with Spirit-filled, risk-taking love for all God's children
until Holston Conference reflects the saving grace
and redeeming justice of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Located in the mountains and valleys of east Tennessee, southwest Virginia, and northern Georgia, the Holston Conference is named after the Holston River.  In this beautiful setting, the 874 congregations serve their communities and the world with a mission to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
Holston Conference is one of fifty-seven conferences of The United Methodist Church in the United States. Located in the Southeastern Jurisdiction of our denomination, we have twelve districts and a total membership of 164,481.
Holston has within its boundaries five Wesley Foundations, four camps, three conference colleges, four retirement and health-care facilities, one home for children, a pastoral counseling center, the Holston Conference Foundation, and a Federal Credit Union.
The ministries of the conference are directed by the Discipleship Team.  The conference staff provides oversight for the ministries and administrative functions of the conference.  Our conference center in Alcoa, Tennessee, serves as the primary place of employment for our staff and as a meeting place for our ministry teams.
The ministries of the Holston Conference seek to support our congregations as they live out a vital faith and witness to the love and grace of God made known to us in Jesus Christ.  Empowered by God’s Spirit and sharing in ministry with one another and our brothers and sisters in The United Methodist Church, Holston Conference continues to change lives all around the world.

Our offices are located in Alcoa, Tenn.
