mission madness
The
month of April, at a location near
you.
Jesus
showed us that His Kingdom is one of servanthood and humility,
love and grace, compassion and justice. The CCYM is
encouraging all youth groups in Holston to perform a service
project in the name of Jesus Christ at some point in the month
of April. Of course, you can do more than one in April and any
other month as well. We just thought it would be awesome if
every youth group in Holston did at least one service project
the same month. Your local youth group will decide what, when
and where you do it. Be the hands and feet of Christ,
spreading the good news of Jesus and the love of
God!
Write to us at dangray@holston.org
to let us know
what, when and where you did your service. Send us a digital
picture too.
Mission Madness
Spotlight: Clapp's Chapel UMC (Knoxville)
Our youth bag groceries at
the Corryton Food Pantry the 1st Wednesday of each
month. We joined forces with another youth group,
Victory Baptist, to raise money for the Corryton Food
Pantry. For each $1 that is donated to the pantry – they
can purchase $7 worth of food.
The kids got together
Friday night and baked cookies, cupcakes, brownies,
etc., They bagged and priced their goods, made posters,
hung out – a little fellowship time, one of our youth brought
his guitar, basically a perfect youth night. We hit the
IGA the next morning and sold almost everything raising $425,
that translates over to $2975 worth of food for the pantry. We
passed out invitations to our churches and the upcoming
Franklin Graham Festival.
We are so proud of our
youth. They worked really hard and because of that, many
families in the Corryton community will receive a great
blessing.
